Students, staff not injured after bird strikes bus

A school bus carrying students back to Schoharie was struck by a bald eagle the  morning of Oct. 30 on I-88, breaking the windshield. There were no injuries to students or the driver. The New York State Police took control of the scene, the state Department of Environmental Conservation responded, and the students and driver were transported on another bus back to school.

The bus was transporting 19 students from Schoharie, Cobleskill-Richmondville and Middleburgh central school districts from the Mohonasen Center for Advanced Technology back to their high schools.
