Help students fight hunger - now!

There are just a few more days to help Schoharie's students stomp out hunger through their non-perishable food drive as part of the Capital Region High School Hunger Games.

Donations can be dropped off at the high school office during school hours or sent in with a student through Friday, Oct. 27.

SCS is competing against nine local schools in the 4th Annual Capital Region High School Hunger Games, which are presented by WGNA radio and SEFCU to benefit 60 food pantries in the region.

Not only are all 10 schools supporting a great cause, but the school that collects the most food, by weight, will win a private concert from Arista Nashville Recording Artist LANco, singers of the current hit "Greatest Love Story."

Schoharie's effort is being led by the school's Student Government, FBLA and Key Club to help feed those in need this coming holiday season and beyond.

 Other participating schools include:
Averill Park High School
Colonie High School
Corinth High School
Duanesburg High School
Galway High School
New Lebanon High School
Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School
Shenendehowa High School
Waterford High School

This year’s winner will be determined based on scoring in 3 categories:
Total pounds of food donations raised; pounds of food donations per student; social media coverage using #GNAHungergames, and school spirit.
