Schoharie Central School District
finances receive another clean audit
The independent public accounting firm of Marvin &
Company CPAs recently completed its audit of the Schoharie Central
School District finances for the school fiscal year that ended on June
30, 2016. The audit report stated that the district had received an
unqualified opinion, which is commonly referred to as a "clean audit."
Marvin & Company presented the report during the
Schoharie Board of Education meeting on Sept. 15. It is the goal of the
school district each year to achieve this excellent audit result.
According to Marvin & Company in the audit report,
an unqualified opinion means that the combined financial statements
"present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the
Schoharie Central School District at June 30, 2016 and the results of
its operations for the year then ended, in conformity with generally
accepted accounting principles."
Following the presentation of the report to the
Board of Education, Superintendent David Blanchard commended
District Business Office personnel for a job well done, recognizing
Assistant Superintendent for Business Robert Bonaker, Treasurer Julie
Langan, Sr. Account Clerk Sue Schuppel and Business Office Secretary
A copy of the audit report is available for review
in the Business Office or the office of the Clerk of the Board of
Education from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
