Robert Kraemer named assistant HS principal/athletic coordinator
Kraemer of Johnstown was named assistant high school principal/athletic
coordinator at the June 16 meeting of the Schoharie Board of Education.
Kraemer, who started with SCS on July 1, previously
taught physical education in the Greater Johnstown School District.
During his 15 years with that district, he coached the baseball, bowling
and football teams as well as coaching strength and conditioning.
Kraemer holds permanent New York State certification
as a teacher of physical education, K-12, a bachelor's degree in
physical education from SUNY Cortland, and a masters in education from
the University of New England. He is nearing completion of New York
State certification as a School Building Leader through SUNY
Plattsburgh. He is American Red Cross-certified in first aid, CPR, AED
and as a lifeguard.
At the Greater Johnstown School District, Kraemer
served as an instructor of the Handle with Care/De-Escalating program;
facilitator of professional learning community meetings; and member of
the Committee for Special Education, Strive for 5 behavioral incentive
team, instructional technology committee and the emergency response,
student climate and scheduling teams.
In the community, Kraemer has been active on the
board of the Johnstown Little League.
Kraemer fills positions at SCS previously held by
interim Assistant Principal David Barnes and interim Athletic Director
Superintendent David Blanchard praised Kraemer for
his "energy, enthusiasm and strong character" and welcomed him to
Schoharie's administrative team.
